Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP EWM and PP Solution Architect to lead digital transformation, business process optimization, and enterprise system initiatives across Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacture, Import/Export, and Quality functions within a regulated Life Sciences environment.

This role serves as a bridge between business and technology, combining deep SAP functional expertise with strong business capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, shape digital roadmaps, drive project delivery, and ensure enterprise solutions deliver measurable business value.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Production Planning (PP), with proven experience in project delivery, stakeholder engagement, solution architecture, and business process transformation. Experience in Life Sciences, GMP-regulated environments, and Computerized System Validation (CSV) is highly desirable. This role is positioned at the Manager / Senior Manager / Assistant Director level.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Solution Architecture & Design

For EWM

• Lead the design and optimization of warehouse management processes leveraging SAP EWM.
• Design end-to-end warehouse solutions covering inbound, outbound, inventory management, physical inventory, and automation integration.
• Support integration with SAP MM, SD, QM, MES, WMS, and external logistics systems.

For PP

• Lead the design and optimization of production planning and manufacturing processes leveraging SAP PP.
• Design end-to-end manufacturing solutions covering demand planning, MRP, production execution, capacity planning, and shop-floor integration.
• Support integration with SAP MM, QM, EWM, MES, and other external platforms.

Common Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture reviews and design governance.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.
• Provide guidance on best practices, process standardization, and future-state architecture.
• Evaluate new technologies and digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

2. Project Delivery & SAP Rollouts

• Lead or support SAP implementation, enhancement, and global rollout projects.
• Manage project scope, timeline, budget, resource planning, and risk management activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, QA, Validation, Business Operations, and external vendors.
• Support blueprint workshops, fit-gap assessments, testing, training, cutover planning, and hypercare activities.
• Ensure successful adoption of standardized processes across multiple sites and regions.

3. GMP Compliance & Computerized System Validation (CSV)

• Ensure SAP solutions comply with GMP, GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and company validation standards.
• Participate in impact assessments, risk assessments, change controls, and validation activities.
• Support audits and inspections from internal and external regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate closely with Quality, Validation, and Compliance teams to maintain compliance.

4. Business Capability Development & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary IT Business Capability Lead for business functions including Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacture, Import/Export, or Quality.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders to understand operational goals, challenges, and strategic priorities.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, compliant, and sustainable SAP solutions.
• Facilitate business workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and process assessments.
• Drive demand management, prioritization, and business case development.
• Develop digital transformation roadmaps aligned with business strategy.

5. Business Process Improvement & Value Realization

• Identify business process improvement opportunities and drive digital transformation initiatives.
• Establish business KPIs and success metrics to measure solution effectiveness and business value.
• Develop implementation roadmaps and continuous improvement programs.
• Drive adoption of automation, analytics, and digital capabilities across operational functions.
• Monitor realized business benefits and ensure solutions deliver expected outcomes.

6. Vendor & Team Leadership

• Manage system integrators, vendors, and managed service providers.
• Review solution quality, project deliverables, and support performance.
• Mentor junior consultants and analysts.
• Contribute to capability development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing.
• Promote best practices in solution delivery, governance, and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of SAP experience in:
• SAP EWM / WM, and
• SAP PP
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading projects, workstreams, or teams.
• Proven experience in SAP implementation, enhancement, upgrade, or rollout projects.
• Hands-on experience serving as an Solution Architect, Lead Consultant, Module Lead, or ITBP
• Basic ABAP debug skill
• Proficiency in English and ability to work with global stakeholders across time zones.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain, manufacturing, warehouse, and planning processes.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with senior business stakeholders and driving business requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decisions in a matrix organization.

Preferred

• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, CRO, medical device, or Life Sciences industry.
• Experience supporting GMP-regulated systems.
• Experience with Computerized System Validation (CSV).
• Knowledge of GAMP5, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11.
• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
• Multi-site or global SAP rollout experience.
• PMP, PRINCE2, SAP Certification, or equivalent project management certification.
