Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) AMS Consultant / Architect with 15–20 years of overall SAP experience to support Application Management Services (AMS) for a global client onsite in the Chicago/Mundelein area.

The ideal candidate will have deep SAP EWM expertise, strong AMS delivery leadership, and significant transition experience as a receiver, ensuring a smooth handover from an incumbent support or implementation team.

This position requires strong stakeholder management, process governance, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to stabilize and optimize SAP EWM operations in a complex global environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP EWM AMS delivery while ensuring SLA compliance and service quality.
• Manage incident, problem, change, and release management following ITIL practices.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent resolutions for recurring issues.
• Support operational stability across Decentralized and Embedded SAP EWM environments.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to support 24x7 global operations.
• Act as the primary onsite lead during AMS transition and knowledge transfer.
• Validate processes, configurations, open tickets, risks, gaps, and dependencies during transition.
• Establish transition governance, reporting, and issue-resolution processes.
• Lead post-transition stabilization and transition into steady-state AMS.
• Provide advanced functional support for:
  • Inbound and outbound logistics
  • Internal warehouse processes and task management
  • Handling Unit (HU) and Wave Management
  • RF Framework
  • Labor Management
  • Slotting and Rearrangement
  • Storage Control
  • Cross-Docking
• Support integrations with SAP S/4HANA, TM, GTS, QM, and 3PL systems.
• Deliver minor enhancements, system tuning, and continuous process improvements.
• Serve as the onsite interface between client business/IT teams and offshore delivery teams.
• Mentor onsite and offshore SAP consultants.
• Identify automation and optimization opportunities.
• Support S/4HANA Embedded EWM migration and warehouse automation initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge documentation and operational processes.

Required Qualifications

• 15–20 years of overall SAP experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SAP EWM.
• Strong experience in SAP EWM AMS/support operations.
• Proven experience leading or participating in AMS transition as the receiving team/receiver.
• Experience with both Decentralized EWM and Embedded EWM.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management processes and EWM functionality.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, change, and release management.
• Strong root-cause analysis and production-support experience.
• Experience working with offshore/global delivery teams.
• Strong client/stakeholder communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and related integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP TM, GTS, QM, and 3PL integrations.
• Experience with warehouse automation.
• Experience supporting S/4HANA Embedded EWM migration.
• Experience mentoring SAP EWM teams.
• Strong process documentation and knowledge-management experience.
