SAP EWM Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview
As a Lead Software Engineer – EWM, you will be
responsible for leading the design, configuration, and delivery of
enterprise software solutions that support warehouse
and logistics functions. This includes driving business requirements
gathering, system design, testing, documentation, and implementation
activities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders and
oversee junior team members to deliver impactful technology solutions at
scale.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery and Execution
- Lead end-to-end design, build, and implementation
for complete business processes/functions within SAP EWM
- Guide requirement gathering sessions with business
stakeholders using structured methodologies
- Approve technical and functional designs developed
by junior team members
- Perform hands-on SAP configuration/modification
based on solution design
- Identify impacts of system changes and
recommend solutions for business alignment
- Prepare and maintain project
documentation including functional specifications and test plans.
- Provide regular project status updates
to the project manager
Support and Enablement
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with
business stakeholders
- Maintain SOX-compliant security protocols in
application design and user access
- Execute periodic security audits
and participate in internal/external compliance audits
- Build and manage role-based access controls (RBAC)
and permissions within the EWM module.
Requirements
Required Experience
- 7-10 years of relevant
experience in software engineering, application configuration,
or enterprise solution delivery, preferably within warehouse management or
supply chain domains
- 5+ years of experience in SAP implementation or
support, with a focus on EWM
- Working knowledge of De-Centralized Extended
Warehouse Management (EWM) systems, including configuration and
integration within SAP landscapes
- Proven experience in full software development
lifecycle for packaged applications
- Certification in SAP EWM or relevant SAP
modules
- Hands-on experience in gathering requirements,
designing scalable solutions, and coordinating user acceptance testing
(UAT)
Essential skills
- Deep expertise in SAP EWM design,
configuration, and support
- Strong knowledge of business process mapping and
documentation
- Proficiency in writing functional
specifications and system requirement documents
- Ability to manage and lead discussions with
business users and technical teams
- Experience leading SAP EWM rollouts in complex
environments
- Exposure to integration with other SAP modules
(e.g., MM, WM, SD)
- Familiarity with user acceptance testing (UAT)
coordination
- Sound understanding of SOX controls and security
audit requirements in SAP.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking
skills
