Lead SAP FICO Consultant
We are seeking a Lead SAP FICO Consultant to support an SAP Cloud ERP Private environment during a major upgrade and ongoing long-term support assignments. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, project leadership, and a small delivery team to deliver finance and controlling solutions, manage testing and stabilization activities, and support continuous improvement across the SAP landscape.

We are seeking a Lead SAP FICO Consultant to support an SAP Cloud ERP Private environment during a major upgrade and ongoing long-term support assignments. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, project leadership, and a small delivery team to deliver finance and controlling solutions, manage testing and stabilization activities, and support continuous improvement across the SAP landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead SAP FI/CO activities across upgrade and support engagements
- Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into SAP solutions
- Support testing, defect resolution, cutover readiness, and post-upgrade stabilization
- Provide ongoing production support and resolve finance process issues.
- Collaborate with the project manager, program manager, and other team members in a small delivery team
- Coordinate across relevant SAP areas and integration points, especially where FI/CO interacts with procurement and service-related business processes
- Prepare functional specifications, test cases, training materials, and process documentation
- Contribute to practice consolidation by improving standards, reusability, and delivery consistency
- Strong experience as an SAP FICO consultant with leadership responsibility in implementation, upgrade, or support projects
- Hands-on knowledge of core FI/CO processes such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centers, and Internal Orders
- Experience working directly with business users and stakeholders in a consultative role
- Proven ability to support system upgrades and provide production support in a live environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in SAP Cloud ERP Private or SAP S/4HANA upgrade projects
- Experience in energy industry or service-purchase-heavy business environments
- Experience working in small, collaborative delivery teams with project and program management involvement
- Ability to help shape and consolidate an SAP practice through process improvement and knowledge sharing
- Current work includes an SAP upgrade lasting approximately 6 months and additional long-term support assignments
- The delivery team currently includes 5 people, plus project and program management oversight
- The client operates in the energy industry and focuses heavily on service purchases
- The SAP environment is private cloud, aligned to 2025 FPS01
