SAP Fiori Full Stack Developer

An 8-month contract in Brisbane building responsive SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 front-end apps and ABAP/OData back-end services for a large retailer's ERP Platform team on SAP ECC EHP8, while helping prepare development practices for the move to S/4HANA. About the role
Our client is a large retail organisation seeking an experienced SAP Fiori Full Stack Developer for an initial eight-month contract within their ERP Platform team, starting the first week of November 2026.
Working in a large retail environment, you will design, build, test and deploy responsive SAP Fiori applications that support business processes across desktop and handheld devices. You will collaborate with SAP functional analysts, developers, architects, testers and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable and user-centred solutions.
Their current ERP landscape is based on SAP ECC EHP8, and they have embarked on a broader transformation journey to SAP S/4HANA. You will contribute to current ECC-based delivery while helping ensure the applications and development practices support the future-state architecture.
This is a hands-on full stack position requiring strong SAPUI5 and Fiori front-end capability, ABAP and OData back-end development experience, and a disciplined software engineering mindset.
What you will be responsible for
Design and develop responsive SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications for desktop and handheld devices
Build SAPUI5 freestyle applications and use SAP Fiori Elements where appropriate
Design, develop and maintain OData services supporting SAP Fiori applications
Develop and enhance ABAP back-end components within an SAP ECC EHP8 environment
Translate functional designs and user requirements into secure, scalable and maintainable technical solutions
Develop, debug and deploy applications using Visual Studio Code
Use Git for source control, branching, merging and collaborative development
Create automated unit tests and apply test-driven development practices
Participate actively in peer code reviews and respond constructively to feedback
Apply established coding standards, reusable design patterns and clean-code principles
Troubleshoot application, integration, performance and usability issues across the full technology stack
Collaborate with functional analysts, architects, UX specialists, testers and other developers
Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer to internal team members
Contribute to development standards and application-readiness activities supporting the move to SAP S/4HANA
About you
You are an experienced SAP Fiori developer who can work confidently across the front-end and back-end technology stack.
You bring a strong software engineering mindset and understand that delivering quality solutions involves more than producing working code. You are comfortable explaining technical decisions, collaborating with different disciplines and taking ownership from solution design through to deployment and production support.
What we're looking for
At least five years of hands-on experience building and deploying full stack SAP Fiori applications
Advanced experience with SAPUI5, SAP Fiori design principles, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS
Demonstrated experience building responsive applications for desktop, mobile or handheld devices
Strong experience designing, developing and supporting OData services
Strong ABAP development experience within an SAP ECC environment
Experience integrating SAPUI5 applications with SAP back-end services
Proficiency in developing, debugging and deploying applications using Visual Studio Code
Strong practical experience with Git, including branching, merging and pull-request workflows
Demonstrated experience applying test-driven development, unit testing and automated testing
Experience participating in structured peer code reviews
Strong understanding of software design principles, clean code, modularity, performance and secure development
Experience working across the complete software development lifecycle
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills
Ability to work effectively with distributed technical and functional teams
Relevant SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, ABAP or SAP development certification
