SAP Full Stack Developer

Purpose of the role

The SAP Full Stack ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting SAP solutions across the organization's technology landscape, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and integration technologies.

The role provides Level 3 technical support to site super users and end users, ensuring system stability, continuous improvement, and effective resolution of complex technical issues.

Working closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical specialists, the role is expected to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, efficient, and sustainable SAP solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a solid understanding of SAP architecture and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the ability to identify and manage technical risks while continuously improving development standards and solution quality.

Additionally, the role ensures compliance with Glencore's security policies, technology standards, and systems governance frameworks.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• SAP Certification
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
• Minimum 5 years of knowledge of Fiori UI5, Integration and Cloud Technologies
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and development principles.
• Proven experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SAP environments.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture.
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies and cloud-based solutions.
• Strong understanding of the SAP Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ability to identify technical risks and design appropriate error and exception-handling mechanisms.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, technical standards, and solution architecture principles.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Key Resposabilities:

SAP Development & Solution Design

• Gather, analyze, and translate business and technical requirements into effective SAP solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions following development best practices and established technical standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and development documentation based on business and functional requirements.
• Provide technical solutions to support business process improvements across SAP modules.
• Identify opportunities to optimize existing solutions, promote reusability, and reduce technical dependencies.

SAP Support & Continuous Improvement

• Provide Level 3 technical support to site super users and end users, taking ownership of complex technical issues through resolution.
• Perform system enhancements, changes, and configuration activities.
• Identify, assess, and proactively manage technical risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
• Continuously improve the quality, performance, and reliability of ABAP, Fiori, and integration developments.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with SAP functional teams, project teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve issues related to business processes and system functionality.
• Support the development of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to demonstrate proposed solutions to business partners and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and training to functional teams and business users when required.
• Document business requirements, AS-IS and TO-BE processes, technical designs, project deliverables, and training materials.

Governance & Technical Standards

• Ensure compliance with SAP development standards, security policies, and Glencore's technology frameworks.
• Apply best practices throughout the SAP Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ensure SAP technical risks are identified, assessed, and appropriately managed.
• Promote continuous improvement, solution scalability, and adherence to architectural guidelines.

Additional Technical Qualifications (desirable) :

The following skills and experience will be considered an advantage:

• Experience with ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (ABAP OO).
• Experience with SAP functional modules such as FI, CO, PS, SD, MM, and PM.
• Integration experience using IDocs, SOAP, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with OData services and CDS Views development.
• Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including SAP Cloud Integration (CPI).
• Knowledge of SAP Application Interface Framework (AIF).
• Understanding of SAP security concepts, including SAP GRC.
• Experience with workflow design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SAP upgrades and related activities, including SPAU and SPDD
