SAP S/4HANA Data & Integration Engineer
Summary
Engineer SAP S/4HANA data mappings and modern APIs to replace legacy systems, working with public-sector teams in Harrisburg, PA.
THE OPPORTUNITY
WHAT YOU'LL DO
· API &
integration design — design, configure, and validate integrations against
SAP S/4HANA APIs (OData/REST), SAP BTP / Integration Suite, and SAP data lake /
Datasphere; support the move from flat-file patterns to modern, secure
API-based solutions, including data-contract validation and environment
readiness.
· Hands-on
troubleshooting — review and resolve end-to-end integration workflows
with agency developers and SAP/IESO technical leads; support alternative
patterns (e.g., middleware) where systems cannot yet consume APIs.
· Identity /
provisioning support (Okta) — support user-provisioning
transitions to Okta — HR-attribute mapping, SCIM/provisioning logic, and group
rules — sourcing employee identity data from SAP. (Strongly preferred; see
qualifications.)
· Documentation
& enablement — produce API set-up guides, example payloads, technical
walkthroughs, data validation checklists, and integration-readiness templates
that let agency teams self-serve.
· Testing,
cutover & hypercare — support test planning, data-continuity validation,
cutover readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING (REQUIRED)
· SAP S/4HANA
data structures — working fluency with the S/4HANA data dictionary,
tables, and CDS views, and consuming S/4HANA OData/REST APIs.
· SAP
integration & data platforms — hands-on with one or more of: SAP
BTP / SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration), SAP Datasphere / SAP data
lake, SLT / data replication.
· Data
mapping & API integration — field-level source-to-target
mapping, transformation logic, REST/OData, OpenAPI/Swagger, and secure
integration patterns (OAuth2 / mTLS).
· U.S.-based and able to
attend onsite, in-person meetings in Harrisburg, PA when requested (all work
performed within the United States).
STRONGLY PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE
· SAP HCM /
SuccessFactors — experience with SAP HR/employee-data structures (the
source data in these transitions is HR data).
· Public-sector
delivery — state or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania IT experience; comfort
in multi-agency, governed, wave-based delivery environments.
· Clearance
eligibility — able to obtain and hold a U.S. Public Trust.

· SAP Certified Associate — Back-End Developer, ABAP
