SAP S/4HANA Grant Management (GM) Consultant

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANAGrant Management (GM) Consultant to design, configure, and support both Grantee and Grantor lifecycles. The ideal candidate will specialize in creating seamless data and financial links between incoming and outgoing grants while aligning processes directly with Project Systems (PS) and Internal Orders (IO).

Key Responsibilities

1. Grantee Management (Incoming Grants)

• Configuration: Set up master data, including sponsor details, sponsored programs, and sponsored classes.
• Able to configure workflow approvals while creating Grants
• Lifecycle Support: Oversee the complete lifecycle from proposal and award to indirect cost (IDC) calculation and closure.
• Cost Object Integration: Link incoming grants directly to WBS Elements and Internal Orders to track specific project expenditures.
• Budget Control: Configure availability control (AVC) thresholds directly against Internal Orders and Project Systems budgets.
• Billing & Reporting: Automate sponsor billing via resource-related billing (RRB) driven by actual costs posted to IO/PS.

2. Grantor Management (Outgoing Grants /Sub-awards)

• Program Definition: Configure grantor programs, application forms, and eligibility criteria rules within the system.
• Application Processing: Manage the end-to-end flow of applications, assessments, scoring, and approval workflows.
• Agreement Tracking: Link legal grant agreements and funding commitments directly to specific WBS Elements or Internal Orders.
• Claims Management: Process incoming claims from sub-grantees, verify performance milestones, and trigger payments against IO/PS. [1, 2]

3. Grantor-to-Grantee Linkage(Pass-Through Funding)

• Process Alignment: Establish a definitive link between incoming funding (Grantee) and outgoing sub-awards (Grantor).
• Funding Flow Optimization: Configure the system to ensure outgoing grantor awards directly consume budgets authorized by incoming grantee awards.
• Traceability: Maintain full audit trails connecting the original donor, the primary project (WBS/IO), and the end sub-recipient.

4. SAP Fiori Reporting & Analytics

• Dashboard Deployment: Deliver out-of-the-box and customized SAP Fiori analytical apps for real-time grant visibility.
• Embedded Analytics: Utilize SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics to build operational reports tracking budget vs. actuals for both IO and PS.
• Role-Based Access: Configure Fiori Launchpad spaces and pages tailored specifically for Grant Managers, Principal Investigators, and Auditors. [1]

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on functional experience in SAP Grant Management (GM) configuration.
• Specific Knowledge: Proven expertise in linking Grantee and Grantor frameworks for pass-through funding models.
• PS/IO Expertise: Deep functional knowledge of SAP Project Systems (WBS structures, budgeting, settlement) and Internal Orders.
• Fiori Capability: Strong proficiency in configuring standard SAP Fiori reporting apps and translating business reporting requirements into analytical views.
