Infrastructure DevOps Engineer (GCP, SAS 9.4 / Viya, Cloud BI)

For one of our large, highly regulated financial services clients, we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen a cloud-based Business Intelligence platform built on SAS 9 and SAS Viya. You’ll work in a DevOps-oriented environment, close to platform and cloud teams, with responsibility for automation, reliability, and compliance with strict banking risk standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, automate, and operate SAS-based BI platforms using SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya
  • Own installation, upgrades, and day‑to‑day platform operations across the SAS landscape
  • Manage the full lifecycle of SAS infrastructure, including release management and upgrades
  • Administer and harden Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems supporting SAS workloads
  • Operate and manage container platforms such as GKE and/or AKS
  • Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible
  • Ensure platforms meet enterprise security, compliance, and international banking risk standards
  • Set up and maintain monitoring, scheduling, backup/restore, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business processes
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support long‑term platform sustainability
  • Work in an Agile / DevOps environment with shared responsibility for reliability and quality

Qualifications

  • Strong hands‑on experience with SAS 9.4 and/or SAS Viya infrastructure and administration
  • Solid background in Linux system administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
  • Experience managing Kubernetes platforms (GKE and/or AKS)
  • Proven experience with automation and infrastructure‑as‑code
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps)
  • Scripting and programming skills in Python, Shell, and/or PowerShell
  • Experience with Git or other distributed version‑control systems
  • Good understanding of lifecycle management, release processes, and operational support
  • Comfortable working in regulated, enterprise‑scale environments
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to understand business and platform requirements
  • Professional working proficiency in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring solutions (e.g. cloud‑native monitoring)
  • Familiarity with CMDB, scheduling, and large‑scale platform administration
  • Background in disaster recovery design and implementation
  • Experience automating operations of complex software platforms end to end
  • Experience working in high‑performing Agile or Scrum teams
