Summary
The Full‑Stack Developer is responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of modern digital solutions with embedded AI capabilities. The role combines hands‑on full‑stack engineering, solution design, team leadership and stakeholder management.
This role works across front‑end, back‑end, cloud, data and AI components to build scalable, secure and user‑centric applications. The role is expected to contribute to technical strategy, guide development teams, manage delivery quality and help translate business needs into practical technology and AI‑enabled solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy full‑stack applications across web, API, data and cloud layers.
- Build responsive, accessible and user‑friendly front‑end interfaces.
- Develop secure, scalable and maintainable back‑end services, APIs and integrations.
- Ensure applications follow sound architecture, coding, testing and deployment standards.
- Lead technical delivery across the software development lifecycle, from discovery to production support.
AI‑focused development
- Design and implement AI‑enabled features using machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, automation and intelligent workflows.
- Integrate applications with AI platforms, large language models, vector databases, APIs and enterprise data sources.
- Build prototypes, proof‑of‑concepts and production‑ready AI solutions.
- Apply prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, model evaluation and responsible AI principles.
- Work with data teams to ensure AI solutions use accurate, secure and fit‑for‑purpose data.
- Monitor AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, safety and business relevance.
Technical leadership
- Lead and mentor developers, analysts and junior engineers.
- Provide technical direction, code reviews and design guidance.
- Set engineering standards for clean code, testing, documentation, version control and DevOps.
- Support estimation, planning, sprint delivery and release management.
- Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies and blockers.
- Promote reusable components, accelerators and engineering best practices.
Architecture and design
- Translate business requirements into technical solution designs.
- Define application architecture, integration patterns and data flows.
- Make informed technology choices across frameworks, cloud platforms, databases and AI tooling.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure and maintainable.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps, platform decisions and innovation initiatives.
Stakeholder and delivery management
- Engage with business stakeholders, product owners and delivery teams to understand requirements and priorities.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Manage delivery expectations, timelines, risks and dependencies.
- Support project governance, status reporting and benefits tracking.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, data governance, privacy, risk and compliance teams where required.
Security, risk and compliance
- Embed secure‑by‑design and privacy‑by‑design principles into solutions.
- Ensure appropriate controls for authentication, authorisation, data protection and auditability.
- Apply responsible AI controls, including human oversight, transparency, bias awareness and output validation.
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable internal policies, client requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Identify and elevate technology, data, security or AI‑related risks.
Experience Required
- 7 to 9 years of technical leadership experience, including mentoring teams and leading delivery.
- Significant experience in full‑stack software development.
- Experience leading technical teams or workstreams.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, generative AI or intelligent automation solutions.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience managing stakeholders and translating business needs into technical outcomes.
- Experience in consulting, professional services or client delivery environments would be advantageous.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.

Working Hours and Hybrid Model
This role requires working the standard office hours of the (territory name) office. During the training period, daily in‑office attendance is required.
