SBBHL

Summary: The School Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL) assist schools in implementing trauma informed behavioral health services and support for student with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), or at risk of developing mental health or substance use disorders in elementary, middle, or high school. SBBHLs provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to assist them in developing enhanced learning environments for children who have or are at-risk of SED, mental health disorders, or substance use disorders. The SBBHL also provide training and education for the classroom teachers both individually and/or in group settings as well as providing psych-education sessions with students to develop positive coping and de-escalation skills. The SBBHL serves as a link between the school and the child’s family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Regularly meet with assigned schools’ administration and teachers. This may include providing education to teachers, attending faculty meetings, meeting with parents, and working with other school-based Quinco staff to get assigned children the necessary services.
• Provide direct clinical services to clients assigned.
• Complete annual diagnostic assessments on existing clients.
• Participate in Easy Access as scheduled to complete intake assessments on new clients. This includes being involved in a rotation as well as picking up intakes as needed/asked when availabilities present in schedule.
• Maintain assigned client records according to center policies and procedures.
• Follow guidelines of structured therapy requirement, ensuring all clients are being staffed and discharged as clinically appropriate.
• Participate in supervision with program supervisor and follow all recommendations of program supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
• Seek out opportunities to provide group therapy and work with the Clinical Director and program supervisor in developing groups.
• Complete all monthly activities and reports as required by the State. This includes completing and documenting students served, teacher trainings completed, staff trainings completed, teacher consults completed, psycho-educational groups, TIER II task, intakes, therapy sessions, referrals made, Youth Screens completed, school climate activity completed and engagement practices implemented.
• Delivers and tracks surveys to students, administration and teachers related to SBBHL tasks.
• Ensures all progress notes and other necessary documentation are completed by 4:30 PM the next business day to ensure adherence to timely documentation standards.
• Responsible for ensuring assigned caseload has all consents, releases, Behavioral Advance Directives, NOMs, Crisis Action Plans, and other required forms/ documentation updated and placed in the medical record.
• Completes all required Relias Online Learning courses by assigned due date and attend all mandatory staff/ company trainings and/ or staff meetings.
• Actively obtain specialty training as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor which are consistent with the position and in compliance with agency polices and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
