About the Project

We’re building a revolutionary, location-based mobile game based on the world’s strongest gaming IP — transforming the real world into a living, breathing game board. Players walk, buy, trade, and build real-world properties, powered by geolocation, real-time data, and AI personalization.

Our mission is not just to adapt a famous brand, but to redefine how players experience the world around them. This means pioneering a complete sonic identity for a global franchise — something that has never been done before in this space.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Scala Dev Team Lead to join our backend team and help drive the development of game and data services for one of our flagship titles. You’ll take full ownership of end-to-end solutions, collaborate closely with game designers and product owners, and make key decisions about new features and technology choices.

This is a hands-on, office-based leadership role — you’ll work on-site with your team to ensure close collaboration, quick feedback loops, and a strong team spirit. You’ll balance technical excellence with people leadership, guiding your team, fostering collaboration, and ensuring smooth and efficient delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable game and data backend services.

  • Drive the evolution of infrastructure and automation processes.

  • Collaborate with product owners and game designers to shape features and prioritize work.

  • Define and optimize team workflows and delivery processes.

  • Make and advocate for sound architecture and technology decisions.

  • Foster a culture of open communication, trust, and continuous improvement.

  • Lead by example in both technical and organizational aspects.

What We’re Looking For

You are a strong technical leader who:

  • Possesses broad technical knowledge and deep expertise in specific domains.

  • Has experience leading architecture of complex, large-scale systems.

  • Is accountable for team performance and aligns goals with company objectives.

  • Encourages open, constructive debate and leads with humility and transparency.

  • Listens actively and values contributions from all team members.

  • Shares both successes and failures openly to foster learning.

  • Reacts with pragmatism and positivity in challenging situations.

  • Is great at sharing knowledge and feedback (and receiving it).

Your Technical Toolbox

  • Strong proficiency in Scala 3 (functional programming focus).

  • Experience developing REST APIs.

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Kafka.

  • Knowledge of Cats, http4s, and modern Scala libraries.

  • Experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis.

What We Offer

  • Attractive terms of cooperation.

  • A friendly, supportive, and value-driven team culture.

  • Freedom to experiment and implement your own ideas.

  • Flexible working hours, with the expectation of regular on-site presence.

  • A workplace built on trust, respect, and constructive collaboration.
