Scala Developer – Data & Analytics Platform

Build and maintain high-volume Scala/Spark data pipelines for financial risk and regulatory reporting, working with Hadoop and CI/CD tooling.
🚀 About the Role:
We're searching for a seasoned Scala Developer ready to take on large-scale data transformation challenges in the financial services domain. You'll contribute to the design and implementation of high-volume data pipelines that power risk management and regulatory reporting solutions.
You’ll work alongside data engineers, analysts, and cloud architects to optimize performance, scale compute workloads, and ensure data reliability.
💼 What You'll Do:
Build and maintain Spark/Scala applications for batch and real-time data processing
Work with large datasets across the Hadoop ecosystem, ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation, and enrichment
Participate in architectural discussions and translate business logic into robust, testable code
Automate deployment flows via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
Contribute to documentation (e.g., technical diagrams, process descriptions, data flows)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setup, contributing to sprint planning and peer reviews
✅ What You Bring:
3+ years of commercial experience in Scala (preferably in a distributed data environment)
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing
Familiarity with Hadoop components such as Hive, Oozie, and HDFS
Strong understanding of CI/CD, particularly with Jenkins, Git workflows, and versioned deployments
Proficiency in shell scripting and basic database querying (HQL, SQL)
Ability to troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
Previous experience working in agile teams with regular delivery cycles

Familiarity with Splunk, Kafka, or Snowflake
Background in financial services or knowledge of risk reporting frameworks
Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Certifications related to Scala, Spark, or Big Data tools
