Scale Operator
Summary
Handles customer service, weighs trucks, manages inventory records, and troubleshoots operational issues for a logistics company, focusing on customer relations and compliance with safety/environmental regulations.
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Place & take phone calls from internal and external customers for product.
- Weigh trucks (internal & external customers) and prepare ticket for driver.
- Maintain accurate records of materials & quantity.
- Enter necessary information into computer system for inventory, billing and/or time keeping purposes.
- Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with customers under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material needs, scheduling conflicts, explain payment requirements.) Monitor and discuss availability problems with co-workers and manager/supervisors.
- Ensure Knife River safety and environmental regulation compliance.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and customer service experience is a plus.
