Scheduler, Per Diem Days, Variable Shifts, Cardiac Cath Lab, Atlantic Health, Chilton Medical Center

Chilton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a Per Diem Scheduler for the Cardiac Cath Lab, working 1-2 day shifts per week.

Scheduling Process:

  • Enters all scheduling data according to the departmental and computer application scheduling guidelines.
  • Enters information in a timely and accurate manor.
  • Provides physician offices with confirmation of scheduled cases.
  • Communicates to physician's office staff and changes in the scheduling process.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician offices and the Center.
  • Verifies scheduling data is correct through reports, schedule and chart review.
  • Utilizes the chart preparation flow sheet to communicate any discrepancies in the schedule or paperwork on final review day prior to procedure.
  • Updates schedule to accommodate cancellations, changes and notifications as appropriate.

Facilitate Cath Lab Schedule:

  • Seeks to confirm availability of physicians, staff and room availability and equipment to assure efficient utilization of resources.
  • Collaborates with other departments affected by Cath Lab schedule. Collaborates daily with anesthesiology regarding scheduled cases.
  • Communications with clinical coordinators and charge nurses any changes or conflicts concerning the schedule in a timely fashion.
  • Completes the monthly call schedules and provides copies as needed.

Liaison for Cath Lab Staff:

  • Answers phones promptly. Uses telephone standards.
  • Answers questions and provides accurate information when requested.
  • Directs inquiries to appropriate department/person when indicated.
  • Greets anyone entering the department promptly and with respect.
  • Maintains AHS and Departmental Policies & Procedures: Appropriately displays ID badge at all times.
  • Adheres to AHS and departmental dress code policies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of the department.
  • Readily accepts challenges.
  • Consistently displays and maintains a neat and appropriate work area.
  • Reports to work on time.
  • Adheres to policy/procedure for use of paid time off appropriate monitoring of own time biweekly as well as operating the computerized punch time system consistently and effectively.
  • Remains calm and professional and non-confrontational during all aspects of job, despite stressful periods. Works cooperatively and collaboratively with the team.

Computer Applications:

  • Maintains current knowledge of the computer applications relative to scheduling process. Reads and reviews all email distributions containing updates.

Patient Satisfaction:

  • Maintains confidentiality according to HIPPA guidelines. Fosters PRIDE values.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (GED equivalent) required - College preferred

Skills:

  • Computer Skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Medical Terminology
