Position Purpose:

This position will be held by an individual who supports the mission, vision, and values of Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) and serves as a contributing member of the NAZ staff, collaborating effectively with team members, partners, families, and scholars. This role is a key driver of NAZ’s K-8th grade strategy, which focuses on ensuring that every scholar has the tools they need to be successful in school.


Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Team Management: Manage a team of Scholar Success Coaches, who are co-located within NAZ partner sites, to support outcomes for NAZ families and scholars. Management responsibilities include providing individual supervision, overseeing day-to-day workload, and monitoring and supporting the effectiveness of individuals and teams through performance evaluations, real-time feedback, and our internal database NAZ Link (Salesforce) that tracks progress tied to scholar and family outcomes.
  • Support NAZ Organizational Development: Develop, promote, and embed NAZ culture, mission, and values throughout the organization and co-located sites. Participate in team building, and operational planning meetings for the team across the K-12 strategy, and work with a team of Managers in the development of processes and protocols that promote effective engagement and outcomes for NAZ families and scholars.
  • Driven by Data: Build and support a data use process through NAZ Link and use site-specific data with each team to ensure that families and scholars are setting goals and making progress. Support assignment of new family connections and links to appropriate pipeline supports. Provide ongoing support for new enrollments, data remediation quality assurance of NAZ Link. Participate in regularly scheduled professional development and monthly data team meetings. Attend monthly meetings with literacy and math tutoring teams to determine scholars' needs.
  • Collaboration Creates Prosperity: Responsible for the integration of Scholar Success Coaches with other NAZ ecosystem components and solutions to facilitate effective, thoughtful wrap-around services to NAZ families and scholars (i.e. ensuring families and scholars effectively reach other parts of the “pipeline of support”). Promote the “team scholar” approach that centers on effective collaboration between Scholar Success Coaches and intentional integration of program partners, all while keeping the scholar and family at the center. Provide input and support in developing family and scholar goals that align with Success Plans as well as Achievement Plans. Promote effective engagement of partners, families, and community resources in these plans.
  • Partner Collaboration: Promote effective collaboration between NAZ staff and program partners by developing shared goals within family and scholar success and achievement plans. Promote effective engagement of partners in these Scholar Success plans and encouragement for partners to be lead support in action areas related to their part of the ecosystem.
  • Results-Orientation: Foster a culture focused on achievement. Ensure that the LINK is fully utilized to promote and monitor achievement through data. Utilize data about our families and scholars to drive workload distribution. Document and report on the progress of staff, families and partners.
  • Family and Scholar Support: Provide support to NAZ families and scholars as a backup to Scholar Success Coaches. Attend a variety of NAZ sponsored events and anchor partner events to support families, scholars, staff, and partners. Co-facilitate activities as a back-up to NAZ staff. Coordinate the effective planning and scheduling of Family Academy programming at anchor sites, supporting recruitment of families and assisting with on-site logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Responsibility:

  • General supervision of approximately 5-10 NAZ Staff (Scholar Success Coaches)
