Summary

Assists lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and caring for school-age children at an after-school program. Responsibilities include driving 14-passenger school buses (no CDL required), maintaining attendance records, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment. Position is after-school only, Monday through Friday.

School Age Teacher Assistant

Triskett Station Childcare Center: 3 needed after school only M-F

Wage Information: Full-time hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour.

CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour

Reports to: Center Director

Job Description:

  • Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children

  • Drive 14 passenger school minibus and/or 6 passenger minivans. (No CDL required)

  • Bus inspections, maintaining of mileage log, and bus cleaning is required

  • Assist in documentation for attendance and transportation services provided

  • Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices

  • Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director

  • Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit

  • Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children

  • Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required

  • Document services provided, such as progress reports and attendance

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information

  • All other duties as needed/assigned
