School-Based Staff Member

Locations Currently Hiring:

South Side Pride located in Eastern Heights Recreation Center: 1101 Prospect Rd, Elyria, Ohio 44035. Hours are 1:45pm until 5:15pm Monday through Friday

Emerson Elementary School 13439 Clifton Blvd. Lakewood 44107 6:30-9:30a, and 2:30-6p, Monday through Friday

Wage Information: Full-time hourly position commensurate with education, experience and Career Pathway Level in OCCRRA; pay rate ranges from $15.00 to $17.50 per hour.

Reports to: Site Coordinator

Job Description:

  • Homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings; check work and ensure completion if possible

  • Responsible for the care and supervision of the children in the classroom- build rapport, classroom management

  • Plan and implement engaging age-appropriate lesson plans for classroom activities and clubs.

  • Parent engagement and communication

  • Manage a classroom environment that is fun and engaging

  • Maintain documentation for services provided progress reports and attendance

  • Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit

  • Work independently with a group of children and as part of a team with other staff and the director

  • May be required to assist with center transportation plans

  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information

  • All other duties as needed/assigned
