School Maintenance Position - Christ the King School

Christ the King Catholic School, on the northside of Indianapolis, is looking to hire a daytime school maintenance employee. The school maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role performs routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventative upkeep of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
-Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
-Conduct routine inspections of buildings, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas
-Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations
-Set up and break down rooms for events, meetings, and school activities
-Ensure compliance with safety regulations and school policies
-Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs
-Coordinate with administrators, teachers, and outside vendors as needed
-Support cleaning and custodial duties when required

Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED required
-Prior maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred
-Basic knowledge of building systems and repair techniques
-Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks
-Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills
-Experience in a school or institutional setting
-HVAC, electrical, or plumbing knowledge
-Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA guidelines
-Good communication and time-management skills
