School Nurse RN - Jefferson Avenue Elementary School (K-5)

Hours: 10 Month (School Year)
Monday - Friday
7.5 hours/day (not including 30 minute lunch break)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: $29.25/hour (minimum starting, commensurate with experience)

Qualifications (REQUIRED):
NY State Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The School Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care and health services to students throughout the school day. The nurse promotes the health, safety, and well - being of students by addressing medical needs, administering prescribed medications and treatments, managing illnesses and injuries, and responding to medical emergencies within the school setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, procedures, and techniques
• The ability to assess health concerns
• Knowledge of medication administration and basic emergency response procedures
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff and families
