School of Business - Finance Lecturer
Purpose
- To contribute to excellence in teaching, learning, and student experience within the field of Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, and Finance.
- To deliver high-quality teaching across a range of accounting and finance disciplines, including Accounting Information Systems, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Auditing, and Assurance.
- To contribute to the School’s academic objectives through a combination of teaching, scholarship, research, enterprise activities, and academic leadership, while supporting the internationalisation of higher education and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- To develop and maintain a growing profile in teaching, scholarship, research, and external engagement, with an increasing contribution to research activity, income generation, and knowledge exchange within the Accounting and Finance discipline.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including module leadership where appropriate, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements and academic standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development, enhancement, and review processes, embedding international, intercultural, and industry-relevant perspectives within programmes and modules.
- Employ innovative and effective pedagogical approaches, digital learning technologies, and a variety of learning resources to enhance student engagement, achievement, and overall learning outcomes.
- Ensure teaching and assessment practices are informed by contemporary research, professional standards, and current developments within the Accounting and Finance discipline.
- Foster critical thinking, analytical skills, professional judgement, and intellectual curiosity among students, enabling them to engage effectively with academic and professional debates.
- Provide academic guidance, personal tutoring, and pastoral support to students, contributing to their academic success, wellbeing, employability, and overall university experience.
- Participate in student recruitment, outreach, open days, employability initiatives, and other activities that enhance student engagement and support School objectives.
- Engage actively in quality assurance and enhancement activities, including module evaluation, peer review, student feedback processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with industry partners, professional bodies, employers, and external stakeholders in Egypt and internationally to support teaching, research, consultancy, and knowledge exchange activities.
- Contribute effectively to School, Faculty, and University committees, working groups, and administrative activities, while collaborating positively with colleagues across disciplines.
- Undertake continuous professional development to maintain subject expertise, enhance teaching practice, and support research and scholarly activity.
- Contribute to research, scholarship, and knowledge exchange activities through academic publications, conference participation, professional engagement, and collaboration with internal and external research communities.
- Support the development of externally funded projects, consultancy activities, research grants, and other income-generating initiatives that contribute to the School’s strategic objectives.
- Develop national and international academic and professional networks that enhance the reputation, impact, and external engagement of the School.
- Where appropriate, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and contribute to the development of future researchers within the discipline.
