Position Title: Schools Program Coordinator
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt
Reports To: Schools Program Manager
Location: In-person, San Francisco, CA
Hourly Rate: $30.58/hour (non-negotiable per LYRIC’s equity-based pay model)
Union Status: Union position (OPEIU Local 29)



LYRIC is seeking a thoughtful and experienced Schools Program Coordinator to join our School-Based Initiatives Team. This role focuses on delivering support-based, group-centered programming at public middle and high schools across San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Through group facilitation, curriculum development, and student engagement, this role helps create a positive and inclusive environment for young people navigating a range of life experiences.

What You’ll Do

🧑‍🏫 Youth Engagement & Group Facilitation

  • Facilitate school-based group programs that support personal development, peer connection, and social-emotional growth.
  • Deliver and refine curriculum that is age-appropriate, supportive, and relevant to students’ experiences.
  • Create welcoming and respectful group environments that encourage participation and peer support.
  • Provide individual check-ins and basic resource support for students as needed.


📘 Program Planning & Implementation

  • Support the design and delivery of programming aligned with school and organizational goals.
  • Track attendance and outcomes to support quality improvement and contract compliance.
  • Assist in developing and updating materials and resources used in student programming.
  • Ensure timely communication with school sites and team members.


🤝 School & Community Partnership Coordination

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with school staff, counselors, and administrators.
  • Participate in care team or student support meetings when appropriate.
  • Support school-based and community events that promote positive youth development and engagement.
  • Represent LYRIC as a reliable and professional partner at school sites.


🧾 Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student participation and program activities.
  • Contribute to internal reports and funder documentation as needed.
  • Use organizational data systems to track engagement and report on deliverables.


💡 Team Collaboration & Organizational Engagement

  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and organization-wide events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support shared goals.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture.



Who You Are

You are an experienced youth program facilitator with a strong understanding of school-based work. You care deeply about supporting students, value collaboration, and bring strong organizational and communication skills to your role.



You bring:

  • At least 2 years of experience in youth programming, education, or related fields.
  • Experience facilitating structured group activities or workshops with middle school and/or high school students.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in program coordination and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities across various school sites.
  • Experience building effective partnerships with school personnel and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other digital tools.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Understanding of Youth Development Principles, Harm Reduction, and Youth Sexual Health
  • Ability to navigate and ride public transportation to various school sites across San Francisco



Preferred experience includes working with:

  • Public schools or educational programs
  • Community-based organizations
  • Students facing housing insecurity, immigration challenges, or other barriers to success
  • Youth support services or case coordination


Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $30.58/hour (non-negotiable, per LYRIC’s equity-based compensation model)
Schedule: 40 hours/week, in-person
Union: This is a union-represented position with OPEIU Local 29
