Science Laboratory Assistant (Part time)

The Services must fulfil the requirements as stipulated below:

In the Area of Teaching and Learning

1. To prepare, organise and get ready resources for Science teaching and learning.

2. To assist Science teachers in the setting up of experiments etc. for Science lessons and/or activities including the preparation, distribution and clearing of resources after each Science lesson and/or activity.

3. To assist in the setting up and operation of ICT and Science equipment such as projector, iPads, dataloggers, and microscopes for Science lessons and/or activities.

4. To perform yearly inventory and stock taking of Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace and update inventory records accordingly.

5. To organise, label and maintain storage of the Science resources and equipment in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace.

6. To maintain cleanliness and assist in ensuring safety in the 2 Science Laboratories and TinkerSpace at all times.

7. To assist in conducting simple Science enrichment activities such as showcasing the life cycles of selected animals and creative toys during designated recesses / Science school-based events to complement Science learning in the classroom.

Science Projects

1. To assist in the loan and yearly inventory and stock taking of resources in various Science Programmes e.g.Science Sparkles, E2K-Ignite Programmes, etc.

2. To assist the department in the feeding and maintainance of the Mealworm Beetles, Stick Insects Enclosure and other live specimens used for teaching and learning.

Others

To carry out other Science-related duties as assigned by the Authority to support the effective functioning of the Science Department.

Qualification, Skill & Experience:

The Personnel shall minimally have the following qualification, skills and experience:

1. Minimally ‘O’ level qualification.

2. Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Science Laboratory Assistant/ Laboratory Technician.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

4. Excellent team player who is organised, adapatable and able to multi-task.
