Investigative spirit and background in mechanical/automation engineering
The role is strongly customer‑oriented and combines R&D at the boundary of Laird Thermal Interface Material Products, and the methods and manners of use of such by our customers
The successful candidate will work primarily with dispensable thermally conductive interface materials (TIMs) and dispensable EMI shielding gasket materials, supporting R&D in their development of such materials, customer pursuits and visits.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Application & Prototyping
- Create customer‑specific prototypes of Thermal Interface Materials and EMI shielding gasket materials
Testing, Verification & DOE
- Devise, iterate and execute test methods and vehicles that serve to simulate and probe our customers’ methods and issues arising therein.
Customer Interaction
- Pursue the essence of customer needs through direct interaction and iterative engagement
Laboratory Excellence & Organization
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation requirements
- Keep accurate records of experiments, settings, and results
Qualifications:
Education
- Engineering background (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Chemical, or similar)
- Technical vocational background combined with strong practical experience may also be considered
Technical Skills
- Understanding of experimental methods and DOE principles
- Strong hands‑on skills in laboratory environments
Personal Attributes
- Detail‑oriented with high sense of responsibility
- Structured, organized, and disciplined approach to work
- Strong ownership mindset and reliability
- Customer‑focused with good communication skills
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
- Motivated to learn and apply new skills.
- Fluency in English language
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience with thermally conductive materials or EMI shielding materials
- Experience in electronics, power electronics, automotive, or industrial applications
- Familiarity with quality systems, audits, or customer qualification processes.
