SCIENTIST

You will serve as a SCIENTIST in Code 60 E the USW Mission Engineering Branch of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. This position is a part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12/13.

You will perform scientific work that involves designing, developing, and adapting oceanography, mathematical, statistical, and other scientific methods and techniques.

You will provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to problems in coordination with and support of senior analytical staff.

You will employ the rigorous methods of scientific inquiry and analysis.

You will develop platform tactics for use in analytic studies.

You will work with senior analysts, scientists, and engineers to ensure the platform tactics developed reflect those that would be used in the real world.

You will use models to simulate real-world platform engagement scenarios and provide outputs, along with analysis of those outputs, to senior analysts.

You will apply oceanography concepts, principles, and methods in the conduct of analyses and studies (test and evaluation, end-to-end platform/system requirements, platform/system performance) for a variety of acquisition program/Fleet customers.

You will provide advice and guidance to managers, senior analysts, and peers on specific technical aspects of systems or concept development.

You will plan, perform, and review studies and tests including formulation of objectives and analysis questions, specification of appropriate measures of effectiveness and performance, data collection and analysis.

You will interpret, present, and document results and technical findings.
