Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment dedicated to delivering timely, patient-centered care to individuals with a wide range of emergent conditions. How you'll contribute

A Scribe who excels in this role:

  • Accompanies physicians into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.
  • Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
  • Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  • Documents any procedures performed by the physician.
  • Is responsible for entering attestation, sign and date all records at time of service.

The scribe’s primary function is to act as a "living recorder" with no clinical patient contact, e.g. The scribe does not obtain vital signs, administer medications, or assist in medical procedures performed by the physician, nurse, or tech.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a High School Diploma (or equivalent). Additional requirements include:

  • CMA or CCMA License Required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Will consider Healthcare students enrolled in a program such as medical student/physician assistant student/or nursing student. Must be able to meet the requirements for clinic hours of operation.
  • Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 6 months experience as a Medical Scribe, or 6 months related experience and/or training. Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
