- Prepare and set up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies before procedures.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure smooth operations.
- Count surgical instruments and supplies before and after procedures to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
- Properly clean, sterilize, and restock surgical instruments and equipment after each use.
- Handle specimens collected during surgery and ensure they are properly labeled and transported.
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other surgical staff to optimize patient care.
- Follow all hospital and surgical protocols, including safety and compliance regulations.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist or Scrub Technician program.
- Certification (e.g., Certified Surgical Technologist - CST)
- Previous experience in a surgical or operating room setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond quickly to changing situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift/move medical equipment as needed.
