Scrum Master
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Scrum Master based in United States.
The Scrum Master will guide an Agile Marketing Automation Team in delivering high-quality projects through effective collaboration, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
This part-time role is responsible for facilitating core Scrum ceremonies and creating an environment where teams can work efficiently and autonomously.
You will partner closely with development teams, business owners, product stakeholders, and leadership to maintain a clear and actionable backlog.
The position combines Agile coaching, sprint management, request triage, impediment removal, and performance reporting.
You will use JIRA and Agile metrics to provide visibility into delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and team performance.
The ideal candidate brings strong facilitation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, along with the ability to identify challenges and help teams resolve them.
This opportunity is well suited to an experienced Scrum Master seeking a flexible engagement of approximately 10 hours per week.
Accountabilities
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives for the Agile Marketing Automation Team.
- Coach development team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and marketing automation delivery approaches.
- Collaborate with marketing business owners and product stakeholders to ensure the backlog remains prioritized, clear, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Perform first-level triage of incoming requests and work with the team to assign, prioritize, and estimate tickets.
- Identify, escalate, and remove impediments that could prevent the development team from achieving sprint and project objectives.
- Manage Agile sprints and associated workflows in JIRA or equivalent ticket-tracking platforms.
- Encourage continuous improvement by facilitating team reflection, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting the implementation of agreed actions.
- Promote transparency, communication, and collaboration between development teams, product owners, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Help development teams become increasingly self-organizing and empowered to make effective decisions collectively.
- Track and analyze Agile performance metrics, including velocity, burn-down charts, delivery progress, and team performance.
- Provide stakeholders and senior management with clear visibility into project status, risks, dependencies, and delivery trends.
- Support proactive risk identification and contribute to contingency planning when delivery challenges arise.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master within an Agile software development environment.
- Certified Scrum Master certification or a comparable Agile certification.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum principles, and best practices, particularly around project management, prioritization, delivery, and reporting.
- Experience using JIRA or another ticket and work-tracking platform to manage Agile workflows and sprints.
- Experience with project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret project data and Agile metrics, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong time management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking capabilities.
- Ability to recognize delivery risks, communicate potential impacts, and support the development of appropriate contingency plans.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles, engineering processes, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and maintain engagement in a remote environment.
- Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
- Part-time engagement of approximately 10 hours per week.
- U.S.-based remote work arrangement.
- Contract duration through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
