Scrum Master
About the role
We are seeking a talented Scrum Master to join NCS Philippines in Taguig City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. As Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our agile teams to deliver exceptional results by facilitating communication, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position is essential to our commitment to project excellence and organisational agility, ensuring that teams operate efficiently within the Scrum framework whilst driving successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospective meetings to ensure teams remain focused and aligned on sprint goals
Act as a servant leader to the development team, removing impediments and blockers that hinder progress and productivity
Coach team members and stakeholders on agile principles, practices and values, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Monitor sprint progress and velocity, providing visibility and reporting on team performance and project status to key stakeholders
Work closely with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is well-prioritised, clearly defined and understood by the development team
Identify process improvements and recommend enhancements to increase team efficiency, quality and delivery capability
Foster collaboration and psychological safety within the team, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing
Support the resolution of inter-team dependencies and conflicts, facilitating effective communication across multiple teams when necessary
Maintain and update Scrum artefacts including sprint backlogs, burndown charts and project documentation
What we're looking for
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent agile certification (SAFe, LESS, or similar) is essential
Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience working as a Scrum Master or in an agile coaching role within a software development or technology environment
Strong understanding of Scrum framework, agile principles, and lean methodologies with ability to apply them effectively in practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings, resolving conflicts and managing group dynamics in a virtual and in-person environment
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing team challenges
Experience working with development tools and platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps or similar project management software
Knowledge of software development practices, testing methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes is highly desirable
Experience in scaling agile across multiple teams or working with frameworks such as SAFe is preferred
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
