Summary
Scrum Master guiding cross-functional squads on Government of Alberta digital modernization initiatives — facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coaching Product Owners, and embedding generative AI tools and workflow automation into delivery. Remote role (must reside in Canada) requiring an active Scrum Master certification and 3+ years of agile experience.

Requirements
Active Certified Scrum Master certification – Mandatory
Agile Leadership & Ceremony Facilitation:Plan, facilitate, and optimize all core Scrum events across multiple squads (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews/Demos, and Retrospectives).Delivery Enablement & Blocker Removal:Proactively identify and eliminate impediments, dependencies, and external friction points to ensure predictable sprint commitments and feature releases.
Product Owner & Squad Coaching:Guide GoA Product Owners on roadmap maintenance, user story elaboration, release planning, value-based backlog prioritization, and relative estimation techniques.
AI-Augmented Delivery Operations:Actively deploy Generative AI and agentic tools into everyday delivery rituals for drafting requirements, synthesizing research and retro notes, structuring sprint metrics, and automating status summaries. Apply prompt design and validate outputs for privacy, security, and hallucination risks.
Process Automation:Design and implement streamlined team intake forms, automated status dashboards, CI/CD integration checkpoints, and workflow automations to reduce manual administrative overhead.
Metrics & Transparency:Maintain live, data-driven artifacts including sprint burndown, velocity trends, cumulative flow diagrams, and capacity models in Azure DevOps/Jira.
Human-Centered Collaboration:Partner with UX/UI designers, user researchers, and service design teams during discovery sprints, usability testing, and field research sessions.
Candidate Qualifications & Criteria
Mandatory Requirements (Must-Have)
Active Scrum Master Certification:CSM, PSM I/II, or equivalent globally recognized credential.
Agile Ceremony Leadership:Minimum 3 years leading and facilitating full-cycle Scrum events.
Agile Delivery Experience:Minimum 3 years embedded directly in agile software development environments.
Agile Team Coaching:Minimum 2 years coaching teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders in agile practices, estimation, and self-organization.
Security Clearance:Ability to pass a Government of Alberta Enhanced Background Check (fingerprint criminal record check + credit check).
Location & Equipment:Must reside and work within Canada on a modern Windows (preferred) or macOS machine fully compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
