Seasonal RedZone Producer
The NFL Media Group located in Inglewood, CA is looking for a part-time NFL RedZone Producer. This position will report to the Coordinating Producer for NFL RedZone.
Responsibilities
- Line produces the afternoon window of games on NFL RedZone
- Could be needed to produce the early window of game on NFL RedZone
- Tasked with making sure all sales elements assigned in the late game window, make air
- During early window of games, assigns and coordinates with edit teams, what editorial content will be used with each sales sponsor
- QC all sales elements before they air
- During early window of games, helps spot key plays, interesting storylines to help the early Producer navigate the show
- Must have great instincts in the control room and deliver them quickly to ensure the entire team in lock step
- Lead a team of Segment Producers, PAs and other show personnel in the control room during execution of the show
- Must have a high level of NFL knowledge with an emphasis on game structure and cadence
- Work collaboratively with Coordinating Producer on show day and prep day during the week
- Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the host
- Must bring creative statistical ideas to the NFL RedZone preshow meeting on Sunday mornings to help team enhance the show for the viewer
- Supervise, train, and mentor Associate Producers & Production Assistants
- Ensure full compliance with the approved policies and operating procedures for NFL Media
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years working in live sports/news television
- Experience line producing in a progressively complex studio and or game production truck required
- Experience producing or associate directing live games is a bonus
- Significant experience in sports production and the ability to produce at a high level
- Must have operational expertise in a production environment
- Must have a high-level knowledge of football and football history
- Previous supervisory and leadership skills are required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed; strong writing and copy-editing skills
- Must possess strong command skills and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Supervisory experience with good leadership skills
- A strong knowledge of live television production dynamics and working knowledge of the equipment and technologies in EVS, the control room and edit bays
- Have a good knowledge of the NFL and sports history
- Good writing and copy-editing skills
- A team-first attitude is mandatory
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism or equivalent experience in a related field
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- Seasonal employment of up to 7 months
- Sunday availability
