SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Senior Analyst
Marqeta is seeking an SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Senior Analyst to own the preparation of the Company's SEC filings and serve as a resource on technical accounting matters. This role is centered on SEC reporting, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, earnings release preparation, stock-based compensation accounting, preparation of the statement of cash flows, and earnings per share (EPS) calculations, while also supporting broader technical accounting research and analysis. This is a highly collaborative role, and you will participate in external and internal groups on SEC reporting topics. As the subject matter expert, you will maintain appropriate industry expertise and technical knowledge, you’ll research and communicate the impacts of new SEC rules to management.

The Impact You’ll Have
As the subject matter expert for SEC reporting, you will:
Own the end-to-end preparation of the Company's periodic SEC filings (Forms 10-Q, 10-K) and earnings releases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP requirements.
Lead the quarterly earnings-release process and related materials, coordinating with Investor Relations, FP&A, and executive stakeholders to ensure figures tie to the underlying supporting documentation and financial statements.
Prepare Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee related materials in support of SEC filings, earnings releases, and related governance and oversight processes.
Prepare stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718, including grant accounting, expense forecasting, dilutive share calculations, and related footnote and MD&A disclosures.
Prepare the consolidated statement of cash flows under ASC 230, including classification analysis and supplemental disclosures.
Calculate basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) under ASC 260, applying treasury stock method and if-converted method for dilutive securities.
Analyze and communicate the impact of new SEC rules and FASB standards, driving cross-functional implementation and required disclosures.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Investor Relations, and external auditors on SEC reporting matters, and act as a key liaison during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Assist with the design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and SOX 404 compliance activities related to SEC reporting and technical accounting processes.
Serve as a subject matter expert on complex technical accounting topics such as leases (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), segment reporting, financial instruments, and others, documenting conclusions in formal accounting memos.
Support special projects as identified by senior management, including M&A transactions, and prepare supporting accounting memos as required.
Who You Are
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA required.
5+ years of relevant experience, including public company SEC reporting experience.
Direct, hands-on experience preparing or reviewing Forms 10-Q and 10-K, earnings releases, and related SEC disclosures.
Strong working knowledge of stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718), cash flow statement preparation (ASC 230), and earnings per share calculations (ASC 260).
Proven ability to research technical accounting matters, write clear position papers, and communicate appropriate accounting treatment to stakeholders at all levels.
Public accounting experience, ideally including a "Big 4" or national firm, with technology, FinTech, or SaaS-based revenue clients.
Extensive knowledge of SEC reporting requirements for U.S. publicly traded companies.
Exceptional attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven filings simultaneously.

Compensation and Benefits
Marqeta calibrates pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

National: $89,400 - $111,700
Premium: $96,700 - $120,900
Premium Plus: $105,100 - $131,400
