Second Shift Reman Tire Technician
As an Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist, your role is to successfully repair damaged alloy wheels for various automotive vehicles, including automobiles, SUVs, and light trucks. Your daily duties include:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform wheel repairs following the AWRS remanufacturing process.
- Complete assigned tasks at designated workstations as determined by the Shop Foreman/Operations Manager.
- Assist in all necessary workstation duties to ensure job completion.
Key Duties:
- Wheel Inspection & Preparation:
- Clean wheels and follow the AWRS "Check-In" policy.
- Remove/separate tires from wheels and inspect for bends or structural damage.
- Check mounting surfaces, lug nut holes, valve stem areas, spokes, and barrel for cracks.
Repair & Refinishing Work:
- Straighten wheels safely and effectively.
- Safely singe a wheel using the AWRS safety method.
- Operate a Wheelabrator properly.
- Use a sandblaster correctly and safely.
- Weld cracked wheels and repair the welded area using abrasive tools.
- Operate a lathe (or learn to operate if not already trained).
- Powder coat and paint wheels as needed.
Workplace Standards & Collaboration:
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the reman center and assigned workstations.
- Train and assist fellow employees by sharing your skill set.
- Complete all necessary repairs and duties required during your shift.
