Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.

Teach both first and second English language from years 7-10

Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development.

Differentiate instruction to meet students’ diverse learning needs and abilities.

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.

Prepare teaching materials, assignments, assessments, and reports as required.

Monitor student performance and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school activities.

Follow school policies, safeguarding procedures, and child protection requirements.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related field.
• A recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE/PGDE with QTS or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience teaching both first and second English language from years 7-10
• Experience of teaching IGCSE First and Second language
• A-level English Literature and KS3 History an advantage
• Strong knowledge of English language and literature and effective teaching methodologies.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage, motivate, and support students with diverse learning needs.
• A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
