Secondary School Chinese Specialist
Summary
Teach secondary school students Chinese language skills aligned with Singapore’s MOE syllabus, including reading, writing, and oral communication, while preparing them for exams and fostering cultural appreciation.
Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging Chinese lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE secondary syllabus.
· Assess students’ learning needs and customise lesson plans to maximise learning outcomes.
· Teach vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, composition, listening, and oral communication skills.
· Strengthen students’ ability to understand, analyse, and respond to different Chinese texts.
· Mark assignments, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
· Prepare students for school assessments and national examinations.
· Develop students’ confidence, language proficiency, and appreciation of Chinese language and culture.
· Create a positive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
· Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
· Develop teaching resources, lesson materials, and classroom activities.
· Uphold ATOP Academy’s teaching standards, values, and commitment to academic excellence.
Requirements
· GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Education, Chinese Language, or a related field.
· Good command of spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin).
· Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Secondary Chinese syllabus and assessment requirements.
· Passion for teaching and supporting secondary school students.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
· Responsible, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.
· Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.
