Summary
Teach secondary school Social Studies in Singapore, aligning lessons with the MOE syllabus, assessing students, and preparing them for exams.
Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with Singapore MOE secondary syllabus.
· Assess students’ learning needs and customise lesson plans to address knowledge and skills gaps.
· Teach key issues relating to citizenship, governance, diversity, globalisation, and Singapore’s place in an interconnected world.
· Develop students’ ability to interpret sources, evaluate reliability, compare perspectives, and draw well-supported conclusions.
· Guide students in answering source-based case study and structured-response questions effectively.
· Teach students to construct balanced arguments using relevant evidence, examples, and sound reasoning.
· Mark assignments, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
· Prepare students for school assessments and national examinations.
· Develop students’ critical thinking, civic awareness, communication, and decision-making skills.
· Create a positive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
· Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
· Develop teaching resources, case studies, worksheets, and examination-practice materials.

Requirements
· GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Education, Social Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, or a related field.
· Good command of spoken and written English.
· Strong knowledge of Social Studies concepts, contemporary issues, and source-analysis techniques.
·Familiarity with Singapore MOE Secondary Social Studies syllabus and assessment requirements.
· Ability to teach source-based and structured-response answering techniques clearly.
· Passion for teaching and supporting secondary school students.
· Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
· Responsible, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.
· Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.
