Securities Settlements Operations Analyst - (Contract)

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Analyst to join the Securities Settlement team. This role is ideal for candidates with stock loan experience or up to 2 years of operations experience within financial services. You will work closely with Trading Desks, internal stakeholders, agent banks, brokers, and counterparties to ensure the smooth and timely settlement of securities transactions while minimizing operational risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions.
• Perform daily trade monitoring, pre-matching, and fail trade management in accordance with market deadlines and cut-off times.
• Liaise extensively with agent banks, brokers, counterparties, and internal teams during Japan market hours via phone and email.
• Investigate and resolve settlement breaks and exceptions in a timely manner.
• Prepare operational and management reports as required.
• Execute controls and procedures to mitigate operational and settlement risks.
• Support business continuity and contribute to process improvements within the operations function.

Requirements

• Stock loan experience is highly preferred.
• Alternatively, candidates with up to 2 years of operations experience in financial services will be considered.
• Good understanding of equities markets, securities settlement, or post-trade operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on risk management and operational control.
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in stock loan operations, securities settlements, or related middle/back-office functions.
• Knowledge of Japan market settlement practices and market cut-offs is an added advantage
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues under tight timelines.
• 6 months contract subject to further renewal.
