Advises on and implements physical security measures for a defense contractor, conducting assessments and coordinating security testing in a hybrid role based in Barrow-In-Furness.

What you’ll be doing\:

In this role, you will be embedded within the Physical and Technical Security Assessments team and the wider security function, reporting to the Senior Security Manager and will be carrying out a range of tasks in support of the delivery of the Physical and Technical Security across project teams and the wider business.. You will be assisting the team with general office management duties as well as working with data to identify solutions to known problems. This is a great opportunity to get exposure across the business working with a variety of stakeholders and being able to influence the security aspects of all future submarine products. Core duties\:

  • Conducting a range of physical and technical security assessments such as; facility threat and vulnerability assessments, vital area identification, security surveys and operational requirements in support of the Physical Protection System (PPS)
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the design and selection of physical and technical security measures to meet a broad and complex range of threats, acting as the intelligent customer
  • Coordinate and conduct a Programme of physical security testing to identify vulnerabilities and assure the efficacy of security measures
  • Work alongside other security disciplines, facility management and outside agencies to plan and deliver the effective provision of business enabling security and create resilient, secure working environments.

Essential Skills\:

  • IT literacy especially Microsoft office
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business including challenging decisions or ideas.

The Physical & Technical Security Assessments Team\:

You will join a team of Physical & Technical Security Professionals working in collaboration with peers across other security functions and the wider business, to protect BAE Systems and Customer assets, in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. You will support the development and application of policies, processes and support activities in line with the security strategy to support complex, innovative programmes of work. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
