🔍 QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in security operations, cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, or a related information security role.
• Security knowledge: Foundational knowledge of security principles, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, indicators of compromise, incident response, networking protocols, and Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
• Tools and telemetry: Basic hands-on familiarity with SIEM, EDR, email security, identity monitoring, firewalls, IDS/IPS, threat intelligence, and searching and correlating network, cloud, endpoint, email, and authentication logs.
• Investigation skills: Ability to analyze phishing indicators, URLs and attachments; investigate endpoint processes, command lines, files, registry events, and network connections; and assess authentication anomalies and possible account compromise.
• Frameworks and procedures: Working understanding of MITRE ATT&CK; ability to follow playbooks and runbooks, use approved SOAR enrichment and automation workflows, and operate within defined L1 authorization.
• Operational discipline: Ability to prioritize alerts, maintain complete case records and ownership, communicate clearly, collaborate in a shift-based SOC, exercise sound judgement, and meet response and resolution SLAs.
• Development: Commitment to continuous learning; CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent entry-level security certification is preferred.
