Security and Compliance Officer
Description
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, observant, and hands-on Security and Compliance Officer to help maintain a secure, orderly, and policy-compliant workplace.
As part of the Admin & Facilities team, you will be responsible for opening the office, monitoring the front desk and access to production areas, enforcing workplace security policies, and conducting regular compliance checks. This is a generalist role, so you will also assist with facilities, errands, supplier coordination, liaison work, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Over time, the successful candidate will be trained in data privacy and information security compliance, with the opportunity to develop toward a Data Privacy Officer role.
Key Responsibilities
Security & Compliance
- Serve as a designated office opener six days per week, ensuring the workplace is secure and ready for operations.
- Man the front desk and monitor staff, visitors, deliveries, and access to controlled areas.
- Ensure employees comply with security policies, including no mobile phones, bags, or other prohibited items on the production floor.
- Conduct regular and random walkthroughs of production areas to identify and report policy violations.
- Monitor compliance with clean-desk, clear-screen, confidentiality, and workplace security requirements.
- Conduct authorized physical compliance checks of company PCs and workstations based on established procedures.
- Maintain security, visitor, inspection, and incident logs.
- Report and escalate security breaches, repeated violations, or other compliance concerns to management.
Admin & Facilities
- Assist with office supplies, equipment, inventory, deliveries, and general facilities requirements.
- Liaise with building administration, suppliers, contractors, couriers, and other service providers.
- Perform company errands and document deliveries or collections when required.
- Assist with setting up, moving, and organizing office equipment, furniture, and supplies using safe handling practices.
- Support other reasonable Admin & Facilities duties as required.
Data Privacy Development
- Undertake training in data privacy, information security, and compliance.
- Assist with privacy and compliance records, audits, incident documentation, and staff awareness activities.
- Develop toward taking on greater data privacy responsibilities and potentially becoming the company's Data Privacy Officer, subject to training, competency, and formal appointment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in compliance, facilities, office administration, BPO/offshore operations, or a similar role is an advantage.
- Willing to work on-site, six days per week.
- Trustworthy, punctual, dependable, and comfortable being responsible for opening the office.
- Firm but professional when enforcing company policies, regardless of an employee's position or seniority.
- Observant, detail-oriented, and able to identify and document compliance issues.
- Basic computer skills and comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- Able and willing to perform hands-on facilities work and reasonable lifting or moving duties.
- High level of discretion and respect for confidential information.
- Willing to undertake training in data privacy and information security.
