Security Architect

Summary

Designs and implements secure systems for government defense, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity frameworks and cloud security best practices.

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Prior and proven experience gained as a Security Architect or in a technical cyber role.
  • Expertise in security legislation (GDPR, PCI DSS, ICO).
  • Knowledge of frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls v8).
  • Familiarity with HMG/NCSC policies and guidance.
  • Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure).
  • Understanding of microservice architectures.
  • Proficient in PKI, cryptography, and privileged access management.
  • Relevant certifications: SABSA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, CISSP, CISM (or working towards CIISEC/UK Cyber Security Council registration).
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide secure design advice from project discovery through to disposal.
  • Ensure solutions align with security standards and architectural patterns.
  • Promote Secure by Design principles to reduce information risk.
  • Validate security controls and their effectiveness.
  • Deliver security architecture for cloud deployments (private/public).
  • Design and scope IT Health Checks and interpret outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate security risks in solution architectures.
  • Conduct threat modelling and risk analysis.
  • Design proportional security controls using native cloud technologies.
  • Produce security architecture artefacts including standards and blueprints.
