Become part of making the impossible possible.

About the role:

As a Security Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining, governing, and evolving Malvern Panalytical's enterprise security architecture across IT, cloud, digital, and operational technology (OT) environments.

Acting as the central security design authority, you will ensure that security is embedded by design and by default, applying key principles such as Zero Trust, least privilege, and defence in depth. You will help shape scalable and resilient security architectures that protect our technology landscape while enabling business growth and innovation.

Working closely with engineering, cloud, digital, operations, and business stakeholders, you will bridge the gap between security strategy, architecture, and delivery. You will translate high-level security requirements into practical standards, patterns, and guardrails that teams can adopt consistently, ensuring security is integrated into every stage of the technology lifecycle.

This is an exciting opportunity for a security professional who combines strategic thinking with technical expertise and enjoys influencing change across a global, technology-driven organisation.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as a central security design authority, ensuring security is embedded by design and by default across all technology environments
  • Apply and promote key principles such as Zero Trust, least privilege, and defence in depth to create scalable and resilient security architectures
  • Translate security policies and business requirements into practical standards, design patterns, and implementation guardrails
  • Bridge the gap between security, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure security requirements are both effective and achievable
  • Provide architectural leadership, challenge, and assurance across strategic technology initiatives and major design decisions
  • Lead and contribute to architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance activities to identify and address security risks early
  • Shape and evolve target-state security architecture roadmaps, driving continuous improvement and innovation
  • Influence stakeholders across engineering, cloud, digital, and operational teams to embed security into everyday delivery practices
  • Balance technical depth, strategic objectives, and business priorities to enable secure technology transformation
  • Contribute to strengthening Malvern Panalytical's overall security posture while maintaining robust governance and control frameworks

About you:

  • Experience in Security Architecture, Senior Security Engineering, or a similar enterprise security leadership role
  • Strong understanding of cloud, identity, network, application, and/or data security principles
  • Experience applying security-by-design methodologies and Zero Trust concepts within complex environments
  • Knowledge of security governance, risk management, and architecture assurance processes
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, threat modelling exercises, and risk assessments
  • Ability to develop security standards, frameworks, and architectural patterns that can be adopted across multiple teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with practical delivery requirements.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can evolve
  • Relevant security certifications (such as CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, Azure Security, or equivalent) would be advantageous

What's in It for You

  • Exposure to broad and complex security challenges across cloud, IT, digital, and operational technology environments
  • Opportunity to shape and influence enterprise security strategy and architecture.
  • Work alongside talented global teams that value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Make a visible impact on the organisation's security maturity and long-term resilience.
  • Benefit from ongoing learning, professional development, and a comprehensive rewards package designed to support your wellbeing, growth, and success.

Travelling nationally and internationally may be required.
