About the role:

MSS Security is seeking experienced Control Room Operators for the University of Melbourne to work on a relieving capacity. In this fast-paced role, you will monitor surveillance systems, manage incident responses, coordinate communication between security personnel and emergency services, oversee access control and visitor management, respond to emergencies, and handle daily phone inquiries.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a security control room or operations centre (highly regarded)

  • Strong knowledge of CCTV surveillance, alarm monitoring, access control systems, and incident management

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high pressure situations

  • Strong decision making and problem solving abilities with a proactive approach to risk management

  • High level of computer literacy with the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate incident reports and maintain detailed logs

Requirements:

  • Full Australian Working Rights

  • Current Victorian Security Licence (with Control Room Endorsement)

  • Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations

  • Current Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR

  • Current drivers licence

  • Employee Working with Children's Check (Or willing to obtain)

  • Availability to work a 24*7 rotating roster
