As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the agile technology team, you will design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable products. You will carry out critical solutions across multiple technical areas to support business objectives. You will collaborate with engineers and teams to enhance platform performance and reliability. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and driving improvements in system architecture.
Job responsibilities
- Design and deliver secure technology solutions across multiple technical areas
- Write high-quality code using at least one programming language
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve system architecture
- Respond to incidents and implement fixes to restore platform stability
- Collaborate with engineers and teams to enhance platform performance and resiliency
- Apply automation to reduce manual toil in the Software Development Life Cycle
- Ensure compliance with security, internal controls, and regulatory standards
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more modern programming languages (Python, Java/Spring Boot, etc.)
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
- Basic knowledge of industry-wide technology trends, security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Grafana)

- Experience with data streaming frameworks
- Experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
