Security Engineer

We are looking for a Security Engineer who wants to build, improve, and modernize security capabilities while working at the intersection of architecture, engineering, operations, and cloud.

This role is for someone who enjoys creating solutions, solving complex technical challenges, and turning security requirements into practical implementations.

Responsibilities

Security Engineering

• Design and implement security controls and security platforms
• Improve technical security capabilities across infrastructure and cloud environments
• Support the implementation of secure-by-design principles across SSC
• Develop technical standards and engineering practices

Security Architecture

• Contribute cybersecurity expertise to infrastructure and cloud architectures
• Review designs and recommend appropriate security controls
• Participate in technology evaluations and platform decisions
• Support architecture reviews from a security perspective

Security Platforms

• Design and improve SIEM integrations and logging architectures
• Support deployment and optimization of EDR, NDR, and security tooling
• Integrate cloud-native security services with monitoring platforms
• Improve visibility and telemetry across SSC environments

Identity & Access Management

• Support IAM initiatives and security improvements
• Strengthen authentication, authorization, and access control solutions
• Contribute to privileged access management initiatives

Automation & Security Improvement

• Identify opportunities for security automation
• Improve operational efficiency through engineering initiatives
• Build integrations that support security monitoring and incident response
• Continuously improve technical security capabilities

Project & Delivery Support

• Collaborate with project teams throughout the lifecycle
• Support secure solution design and implementation
• Provide practical cybersecurity guidance to engineering teams

As Security Engineer, you will strengthen SSC's technical security foundations by designing, implementing, integrating, and improving security services, platforms, and controls.

You will help move security earlier into projects and engineering processes while ensuring security solutions remain practical, scalable, and operationally effective.

What we believe you bring

• University degree or equivalent practical experience
• Strong technical background in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure
• Several years of experience within security engineering, cloud security, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity consulting
• Experience implementing security tools and platforms
• Strong understanding of cloud security concepts
• Ability to evaluate and solve complex technical challenges
• Experience collaborating across architecture, operations, and engineering teams
• Strong communication skills
