Security Guard (Military Ocean Terminal)
Summary
Perform physical security duties at a military terminal, controlling access and inspecting vehicles/containers while enforcing safety regulations.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Security Guard with the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, 596th US Army Transportation Surface Brigade (ARTRANS), 832nd United States Transportation Battalion, Police & Security division located in Southport, North Carolina.
Control access of vehicles, pedestrians, boats, rail cars and aircraft/drone access to the terminal.
Perform badge spot checks, random vehicle inspections of incoming and out-going containers/equipment.
Respond to emergency situations.
Guard and protect Federally owned property, buildings and equipment.
Conduct rudimentary inquiries and interview witnesses/suspects of violations.
Perform security guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations.
Enforce the security and safety regulations of the terminal.
