Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff at a hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA, including emergency response and routine patrols.
JOB LOCATION - Wilkes-Barre General Hospital - Per Diem Position Purpose |
To provide a safe and secure atmosphere for patients, visitors and employees. Protect hospital buildings, assets and premises as assigned. |
Position Qualifications |
Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Up to one (1) year of supervised training; pertinent experience desirable. Varied in-service participation is required; continuing education is recommended. Obtain, within one (1) year, the Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) designation utilizing the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety educational book and testing. Preference for protective service, public relations aptitudes, communication skills, safety-conscious, clerical accuracy, observant, investigative, empathetic and understanding, mechanically inclined; able to control emergency, crisis, and stress situations; independent thinking/sound judgment; physically able and proficient in self-defense. |
Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. |
