Security & Network Engineer – Rome, Hybrid

Etinars is seeking a mid-level Firewall & Network Security Engineer to join our international team in Rome (Anagnina Area). You will work hands-on with IT security, network operations, and programmes linked to European institutions in the space and defence sectors.

The role requires 1–4+ years of hands-on IT security experience, with firewall configuration expertise and Linux security administration, plus English (B2).

Perform hands-on security administration across network devices, firewalls, and Linux operating systems. Execute security checks, reviews, and vulnerability follow-up with remediation actions. Contribute to configuration and maintenance of security controls (firewalls, access rules, segmentation). Support access management and security control implementation across systems and applications. Maintain security documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines. Improve IT security processes and controls through practical implementation. 1-4+ years of hands-on experience in IT Security, Cybersecurity, or infra/system admin with a security focus. Practical experience with network security and firewall configuration (rules, policies, segmentation). Good understanding of IT security principles, policies, and best practices. Hands-on experience with Linux and knowledge of Linux security administration. Solid knowledge of network security, firewalls, segmentation, and access control.
