Security Officer

Position Statement:

Under the direction of the Controller and Security Supervisor, this position is concerned with the safety property and guest protection and accident programs for the hotel, its guests and employees.

Position Summary:

• Protects life and property and prevents crime from occurring at Goldwynn Resort and Residences.
• Enforces and abides by the rules and regulations as set down by Goldwynn Resorts and Residences.
• Conducts fire and hazard checks
• Always maintains a high standard of professional conducts being an ambassador for the company and its services and ensuring that discredit is not brought to any fellow team members or the company.
• Maintains complete knowledge of the company, its products and services; its policies and procedures including Fire Prevention, Security and Patrol and Report System, Hurricanes and Medical Emergency; and observes and executes them at all times.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information received whilst on duty whether company-related, employee related, or customer/vendor related. No such information shall be discussed; shared or exposed to anyone either external except appropriate authority has been secured to do so.
• Patrol assigned areas at regular intervals to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows and gates.
• Secure the premises and personnel by patrolling the property and monitoring surveillance equipment. Address all incidents, that occur on property and produce accurate reports.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances or unusual incidents or occurrences, suspicious persons and employees who may be in unauthorized areas.
• Answer and screen telephone calls, record and relay messages correctly and in a timely manner.
• Identify and report safety hazards, following up to ensure they are eliminated.
• Escort as necessary, cashiers or other persons involved in the movement of funds and other valuables on property.
• Control traffic by directing drivers.
• Assist in monitoring the clocking in and out of employees arriving and departing the property. Check employee bags and containers, identify and report any company property discovered.
• Control and inspect all vehicles entering and exiting the loading dock and restricted areas, including employees of contracted firms and provide escorts as necessary.
• Provide crowd control in public areas and entrances to places of entertainment as assigned.
• Maintain strict surveillance in public areas to identify undesirable patrons and, if necessary, remove such persons inconspicuously.
• Investigate all guest and employees’ complaints, provide written reports upon completion.
• Detain persons involved in illegal acts on property, pending notification from local authorities and prepare reports regarding such incidents.
• Log incidents or unusual occurrences clearly, factually and legibly.
• Respond to guests’ complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate and communicate with other internal departments to ensure guest and team members safety.
• Perform duties on a daily checklist.
• Instruct team members while following company guidelines in the team member handbook.
• Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations.
• Initiate emergency responses when necessary.
• Collect and enter into the database all Lost and Found items.
• Release Lost and Found items to rightful owner, in accordance with hotel policy.
• Have sound knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the property.
• Work all AM, PM and graveyard shifts as scheduled.
• To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the Controller, Security Supervisor or any member of senior leadership.

• Goldwynn operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore you will be scheduled to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
