Summary
The
Security Officer-in-Charge (OIC) is responsible for planning, supervising, and
coordinating all security operations within the assigned Royal Institute
branch. The role ensures the safety and security of students, staff, visitors,
and school property by leading the security team, enforcing security
procedures, monitoring access control, and responding effectively to
security-related incidents. The OIC also ensures compliance with institutional
policies while promoting a safe, secure, and disciplined learning environment.
Key
Responsibilities
- Supervise
and coordinate daily security operations and security staff deployment.
- Prepare
and manage duty rosters, attendance, leave schedules, and shift allocations.
- Monitor
access control procedures and ensure proper entry and exit
- Conduct
regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and security equipment.
- Investigate
incidents, accidents, complaints, and security breaches and submit reports.
- Maintain
security records, occurrence books, visitor logs, and incident reports.
- Conduct
security briefings and provide on-the-job training to security personnel.
- Monitor
CCTV operations and ensure all security systems function properly.
- Recommend
improvements to strengthen security and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Diploma
or Certificate in Security Management, Public Administration, or a related
field is preferred.
- Former
military, police, or recognized security service experience will be an
added advantage.
- Valid
security-related certifications are desirable.
- Minimum
of 5 years' experience in security operations.
- At
least 2 years in a supervisory or Officer-in-Charge role.
Experience in a school, educational institution, or large corporate environment is preferred. - Strong
leadership and team supervision skills.
- Sound
knowledge of security operations and access control procedures.
- Knowledge
of CCTV surveillance systems and security technologies.
- Excellent
incident investigation and report-writing skills.
